First published in October 2006, SportsUnlimited Magazine was conceived with Southeast-based sports enthusiasts in mind. From Arkansas to Kentucky, and Maryland to Florida, we recognized that many of you share the same passions as we do. We love college sports, particularly football and basketball. We enjoy some professional sports, particularly football and baseball. We like to play golf or tennis, enjoy hunting and fishing, but most of all we love to travel to watch or play almost any sport.
For us, sports is our lifestyle, and SportsUnlimited is a sports lifestyle magazine that informs and hopefully entertains. We particularly enjoy taking our time to describe those passionate topics we write about. We don't believe we have to tell a story in less than 500 words or we will lose our readers' attentions. We think highly of our readers, because we know that they are educated and passionate about sports and the topics surrounding sports.
We prefer substance over sizzle, and hope that if an athlete must wear jewelry that it comes in the form of a cross or medal rather than earrings. And, we believe that our writers should devote their attentions to featuring athletes, coaches and administrators who deserve our attentions, rather than those who only seek the limelight for their own personal gain. For this philosophy, we will not apologize, and we hope our readers will embrace it.
SportsUnlimited is a free magazine, available by free subscription and at many distribution locations that took many months to procure. Dick's Sporting Goods, Taco Mac, Buffalo Wild Wings and many hotels and resorts throughout the Southeast have agreed to provide our magazine to their patrons or guests free of charge. As such, SportsUnlimited Magazine intends to maintain these free distribution methods as long as it remains feasible to do so. We provide the magazine as a free service to sports enthusiasts and depend solely upon advertising and sponsorship sales to do so. As such, it is our hope that you will support those business who support us to distribute SportsUnlimited Magazine.
While we have a very small stable of capable writers and editors, we don't think you will find any who are more passionate about sports — and sports as a lifestyle — than those at SportsUnlimited Magazine. We humbly thank each of you for your support.
